MU Conseils was hired in 2019 by the Council of the Innu First Nation of Essipit to support them in the deployment of its comprehensive community planning and supporting member engagement strategy. The purpose of the process is to identify a vision for 2050 meant to maintain or improve, when required, the quality of life of members in a respectful, open and transparent manner, while continuing to ensure sound management of the community’s assets. This approach is supported by a number of creative facilitation tools, a range of advisory processes and the implementation of an effective communication strategy. Among other aspects, the planning process itself and its implementation aim to build the spirit of community, coordinate future development, protect resources and land, and create economic opportunities.
