The Port of Baie-Comeau has undertaken major rehabilitation work on its Terminal No. 5 facilities. The purpose is to optimize the safety of the existing infrastructure dating back to the 1960s and increase the port’s capacity for cargo ships. This project is in line with the Port of Baie-Comeau’s vision of standing out as a leader in sustainable regional development.

The Port of Baie-Comeau hired our MU Conseils business unit to conduct an information and consultation process meant to ensure the harmonious implementation of the project, while meeting the community’s needs, expectations and aspirations as closely as possible. The process involved neighbouring organizations directly affected by the project, environmental, social and economic Manicouagan stakeholders and, lastly, the general public. A dialogue with First Nations likely concerned over the project was also advisable, in order to consider their specific views and points of interest.
