MU Conseils worked with the ERM firm during a social performance project awarded by ArcelorMittal. Active in Port-Cartier and Fermont, the company aims to improve corporate relationships with its stakeholders on the North Shore.

The study included several key steps involving MU Conseils:

  • Documenting the specifics of the communities where ArcelorMittal’s facilities are located (Port-Cartier and Fermont) and the nearby communities (Sept-Îles and Uashat mak Mani-utenam);
  • Conducting on-site and remote interviews to better understand the relationship between each stakeholder and ArcelorMittal and to identify the priority concerns and needs of each;
  • Synthesizing results;
  • Making recommendations for the senior management team.

This process will also help the company to meet the commitments set out in certain protocols of the Towards Sustainable Mining initiative and in IRMA (Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance).
