Founded in 1990, the Terres en vues organization is composed with members of the Mohawk, Huron-Wendat, Abenaki, Innue and Cree nations. The organization is the master chief of the Présence autochtone, making of Montreal the gathering place for native creativity from the three Americas during 10 days in June.

Innu Aitun's Website has no other goal than to help the Innu elders to pass on to youngers their knowledge, their culture and their history, in other words, their pride. It is a combination of knowledge that has never been writen before. Instead, they were told, recited and illustrated throughout the millenia of human occupation on what is now called ''La Côte-Nord québécoise''.

 
The cultural and educational montagnais institute

For over 20 years, the cultural and educational montagnais institute serves eight Innu communities of the Côte-Nord and from the Basse Côte-Nord, with a total population of 10,000 persons.

 

This site presents the mission of the institute in the communities and its achievements related to education and promote Innu culture : arts, movies, music, documentaries and educational material. From all of these achievements, several documents can be viewed online and printed, and previews of audiovisual contents can be downloaded.

CCC eco-responsible guide

This guide talks about all the environmental issues that the Quebec's CCC are facing: healthy eating, water and energy management, waste, toxic baby bottles, household products, air quality, transportation, paper, etc. Every Child Care Centres throughout the province of Quebec can have this guide for free at this adress www.cpedurable.org.

 

Developed with the collaboration of 9 CCCs, their regional grouping and also their national association, this guide proposes to Child Care Centres employees simple and practical solutions to provide local responses to global issues.

 

Although this guide is first made for Child Care Centres, every Day Care Centres can learn from the content and apply the guide's recommandations.

Organize a green event

A green event is organized  to reduce the harmful effects and to increase positive impacts in respect of each of the three poles of sustainable development : environmental, social and economic.

 

Whether by offsetting the greenhouse gas emitted during the event, composting of organic materials, promoting carpooling or the awareness to healthy lifestyle, each green event is unique and adapted to the realities of promoters and participants.

 

It is easier than you think to act green. The key is to structure these acts in a model of sustainable development and to communicate your successes!
